As Proverbs 16:1 states "To humans belong the plans of the heart, but from the Lord comes the proper answer of the tongue." When Refiloe Mokoena (Fifi) leaves home in Qwaqwa to pursue her dreams in a big bad city Johannesburg as her mother calls it. Fifi plans to take the Stock Market Industry by storm, Fifi had her whole life planned out like many of us. But we all know that GOD works in mysterious ways.
Fifi meets business tycoon Siyabonga Ndhlovu of Ndhlovu Corp, her life is takes a drastic turn. Is there more to this suit-wearing tycoon? Fifi is forced into Siya's world. She puts her life on hold to accommodate Siya's lifestyle. As Fifi navigates through life and her relationship with Siya, she realizes that everything is not as black and white as she think it is as she is introduced to the life of secret agencies and government conspiracies.
We love Fifi, she's fierce, strong, independent, driven and also admire that she refuses to be tied down and be submissive. Fifi reminds me of myself (nokuzola) because she's strong-willed and conscientious (look for it in a dictionaryπ©)
Oh Siyaπ Siya is every woman's dream, he has that commanding and has that respectful aura. He's handsome, confident and arrogant.
Even though Siya is a dream, there some things I didn't like about him : 1. He was inconsiderate about Fifi's feelings, yes he loves Fifi, but he's controlling. Women want to be lead not controlled.
2. Siya did not put Linda (baby mama) in her place, which lead to Linda disrespecting Fifi. But I don't blame her though, Siya's mom already labeled her as 'Makoti wakwa Ndhlovu'π€¦πΎ♀️
What I loved about the book is the author's writing style it was beautifully detailed and precise even the explicit scenes. I also loved that she's well informed about the Stock Market Sector. It clearly shows she did her research.
I'm mad at Simphiwe because the book ended with a cliffhanger and also felt that it too short and I felt like there's more to it. I couldn't believe it when it ended. I was pissed. I kept turning the page to see if it's really true πbut we'll see how it works out on the next book : When Life Gives You Lemons, which I'll be released soon and I can't wait for my copyπ
The book covers love, sex, anger, betrayal, greed, family, fear, GOD, hate, and lies.
Overall I loved the book. I'd definitely recommend this book if you're a fan of South African Fiction or like me you love romance, this is definitely for you.
Fun Fact : Siya and Fifi's Love Story is the first of a three part romance, action thriller book series (Siya and Fifi's Love Story, When Life Gives You Lemons and The Debt Collector)
N.B : we will be using first person voice because me and my twin sister are basically one person π
You can get the book in all major book stores : Exclusive Books, Bargain Books, CNA and many more.
